Ethereum’s $3,000 target is back in the conversation, but the latest October selloff has made that comeback harder. ETH fell toward $2,500 after losing the $2,700 area, leaving holders facing another uphill climb just to recover prices seen earlier this month.

Ethereum had a strong start to the week and a quieter end. $ETH ran from around $2,575 on September 20 to a weekly high near $2,800 on September 22, then gave back half of that gain and settled into a range between $2,650 and $2,700. It is currently trading at about $2,687.

Ethereum is attracting another wave of institutional attention after BitMine added 28,086 ETH to its treasury, worth roughly $69 million at current prices. The purchase takes BitMine’s holdings to approximately 5.93 million ETH, bringing it close to its goal of owning 5% of Ethereum’s supply.
