Two long-running U.S. crypto rule proposals have finally been taken off the table.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) called for a series of changes to the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), saying the rules should be simplified while giving investors stronger protection and covering newer business models such as decentralized finance (DeFi), staking, lending and borrowing.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, the United States District Court for the District of Delaware issued an order confirming an arbitration award and rejecting attempts by several outside companies to challenge it.

The Fed’s proposal would set capital requirements, a two-day redemption window and new reserve disclosures as regulators implement the GENIUS Act.

The cryptocurrency news this week moved faster than the charts. The CFTC sent its crypto rules to the White House on September 17, per The Block. That was two days after the Clarity Act failed in the Senate by one vote.
