Ethereum (ETH-USD) opened at $1,890.67 on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, down 3.2% from Monday’s opening price. The price of ethereum moved lower this morning to $1,877.71 as of 8:34 a.m. ET.
Bitcoin and ethereum opened lower this morning ahead of today’s two-day Federal Reserve meeting. Some analysts are calling this the hardest Fed meeting to predict in years. According to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool, there’s a 35.8% chance the Fed will raise rates following the conclusion of its meeting tomorrow, up from 25.7% last week.
Volatility in crypto is expected to continue, as investors process potential peace developments in the Middle East and the crush of negative news around AI circular funding.
